Teknion Corporation announced today its sponsorship of the Design Access Summit, February 19-21, 2014, at Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, California. Design Access is presented by Public Architecture.
"At Public Architecture, we know that the environments in which we live, work and play – both the natural environment and the built environment – have a significant impact on our health, learning and economic opportunities," said John Peterson, Founder and President of Public Architecture. "Making smarter, more equitable decisions about design and the built environment is a key tenet of Design Access, which will convene this year to explore how anchor institutions can play a critical role in the success and sustainability of local, low-income communities nationwide. As a founding sponsor of Design Access, Teknion’s generous support enables us to continue advancing the role of architects and designers as changemakers in their own communities."
"Teknion has enjoyed a rewarding relationship with Public Architecture," said Mary Ellen Magee, Teknion’s Director, Marketing Communications. "We are proud to partner with an organization dedicated to assisting the many designers and design firms that donate their time, resources and skills for the good of our communities."
Design Access is not a traditional conference. There are no keynotes. The summit is invite-only and everyone at this gathering is an expert in his or her field. It offers participants an opportunity to build their professional relationships, to collaborate on impactful projects, and to examine complex issues from new perspectives.
