Duality Collection
January 2014

Dualities are ever-present in our lives, where everything we encounter and envision has two opposing elements. Night and day, dark and light, mind and matter, yin and yang – these dualities frame our understanding of the universe and make us appreciate all aspects of our surroundings. Without knowing one state, we cannot know the other.

In the realm of materials, we look to shifts and juxtaposition of color, texture, sheen and patina to inspire and move us. When these properties mix in contrast, they each maintain their essence and purity, but together provoke a compelling declaration of beauty. In fact, often one helps temper and ground the other. The Duality textile collection emphasizes this concept, that a pairing of two or more materials can be elegant, simply powerful and expressive.
